Vanessa has been teaching
aerobics and physical education for the past 14 years, the last 4 at
community colleges in Orange County. She specializes in step-only
classes, but has been successful in "step variety" classes where
elements of other group fitness classes (athletic skills, martial
arts, interval training, etc.) are incorporated into the step class.
She has studied under Gay Gasper, Andre Houle and Cielle Kubrick and
has attended numerous workshops hosted by IDEA and AFAA throughout
the country. She holds her master's degree in physical education from
the University of Northern Colorado (1994), is an Avia Select
Instructor, AFAA certified, and currently a fitness instructor at
Cypress and Rio Hondo community colleges. She is also very active in
the girls' and women's volleyball and basketball communities, in
addition to directing allsportsconnection.com, the premier women's collegiate sports
recruiting web site.

Vanessa Hornbuckle,
instructor, besides lots of experience working on her Macintosh, now
has 5 years in teaching Macintosh applications&emdash;desktop
publishing, word processing, spreadsheets and databases&emdash;and
recently ventured into basic web design. Vanessa owns and directs
www.allsportsconnection.com, the first for-women-only collegiate
sports recruiting webservice available FREE to high school and
community college female athletes worldwide. For several years she's
enjoyed teaching sports and fitness classes in Southern California,
and is the new head women's volleyball coach at Rio Hondo Community
College.
Need to "Step it up a Notch" in your aerobics classes? For the novice
to advanced step teacher, this class offers ways to add variety to
your classes through choreographed options, athletic skills,
kick-boxing, interval training, and by utilizing 2 steps for double
the fun. You'll learn to successfully build 16-, 32 and 64 count
combinations through simple progressions, transitional systems, and
specific cueing techniques. Learn how to pick music and maintain
motivation throughout the semester. All levels of experience are
welcome!

the most basic fundamentals of web design, using Adobe PageMill on
the Macintosh computer. Course prerequisite: must have at least
