Sharon Iriye Biography
Sharon has been the New
Coaches and Advisor Training Instructor. as well as the 1st Aid/CPR
Instructor for the Anaheim Union High School District for the past 7
years. She was formerly an Assistant Athletic Director at Savanna
High School in the same district, and currently teaching Health
Education. She continues to be involved in teaching Physical
Education at East Los Angeles Community College in the evenings.
Sharon has been involved in officiating and coaching both team and
individual sports at the high school and community college levels.
Sharon's concern for the quality of coaching has driven her to become
a certified instructor for the CIF Coaching Education Program
(CIF-CEP), and a certified 1st Aid / CPR Instructor - Trainer.

Week 1 (July 9 - 14) - 2nd Hour (9:45 - 11:00)
|
The CIF-CEP works to provide
strong, pragmatic, comprehensive instruction for coaches. The
training is consistent with the highest statewide standards for
coaching in high school interscholastic athletics as set by the
California State legislature, the State Department of Education, and
the California Interscholastic Federation. The CIF Coaching Education
Program consists of the Coaching Principles Course &endash; part of
the American Sport Education Program (ASECP)/National Federation
Interscholastic Coaches Education Program (NFICEP) and the CIF State
Rules Test. The coaches will receive "Successful Coaching", as the
text of the course which is included in the fee. The benefits of
Coaching Education are: 1) To teach sports skills more effectively 2)
Improve communication and motivational skills 3) Reduce injuries by
managing risks.

Sports Medicine Medic First
Aid® is a basic training course for coaches and teachers in the
emergency care of physical education students and student / athletes.
The course is designed to give teachers and coaches:
1. A basic Understanding of their
responsibilities
2. Skill in developing an
emergency action plan
3. Basic emergency care
skills
4. An appreciation and
understanding of the potentially serious nature of sports
injuries*.
